Two friends, one family of artisans, and a small NYC apartment

DESCO started in the summer of 2024, born out of a simple moment of curiosity. Sebastian was always showing up to work in New York wearing fresh, eye-catching necklaces — pieces unlike anything Danny had seen. When Danny asked where they came from, the answer was Colombia: Sebastian's parents, a husband-and-wife team who have been designing and making jewelry out of their own store in Medellín for over a decade.

We started small — working with his parents to make a handful of pieces to sell to friends. Then it took off. We were running a jewelry brand out of a New York apartment, bouncing ideas back and forth between our two very different design sensibilities. We even tried building pieces ourselves in the city, but quickly hit a wall when it came to sourcing materials durable enough to hold up in real life.

That's when we made a decision we haven't looked back from: stainless steel only. Every piece we make now is built to withstand sweat, water, and sun. Just as durable as it is beautiful.

We draw inspiration from our travels, the New York nightlife scene, and the landscapes of California. Over time, the brand evolved into something with a clearer purpose — bridging the gap between masc and fem jewelry, a market we felt was underserved and lacking originality. That mission now drives everything we design.

Today, Sebastian is in New York and Danny is in LA. We run this entire operation ourselves — two people, one brand, zero shortcuts. To everyone who has supported us since the beginning and stuck with us through the early days when the materials weren't quite there yet — we see you, and we're grateful. We've upgraded, and we're just getting started.
